I attended the peer to peer meetup I spoke to you all about some time back. Since it was a Friday for me, I didn’t want to go into the office that day anyway. It was a crappy week, I took a day and attended. Glad I did as I got back useful feedback on my delivery, and useful information on a way to move forward. I spoke before about creating a youtube channel suggested by Walter from our local indie game’s meetup. Well that was just validated as a path forward. Our coach at this session said that appears to be a way forward for most folks. People are also doing Podcast intro/outros and Ad reads for popular podcasts. I have noticed it on some podcast but generally those are podcasts from big players.

The others on the call liked my voice and encouraged me to use the gravely tone often and the coach directed me towards character roles. Which as you know is the direction I wish to head. I would love to be an NPC in some games. He has a goal of getting in a SquareEnix game. I’m looking at Destiny 2 but will settle for something else like the next Fallout.

Speaking of games,

I did collect game play for my next explainer, Ghost of Tsushima. I haven’t done the audio portion yet as I haven’t had time. Perhaps today or tomorrow I can complete that. I also have a part two to add to my first Destiny explainer. Someone did an interesting post on youtube about their wife playing Destiny 2 for the first time having never played a FPS online game before. It was hilarious but very true. One of the big complaints about this game toward Bungie is that they have no explainer on how to play and what button is for what function and what everything means. Call of Duty has a very good process for introducing new and even returning players, on how to navigate the game. It’s a boot camp style tutorial. Hmm sounds like an idea brewing here.
