ej's voice over journey
My journey into the world art of Voice Over. I've begun learning how to use my voice to entertain and inform listeners. Since I just started I might as well use my voice to inform others of my path. Who knows, what I have to say may help someone else interested in this art avoid mistakes and have a smoother entry.

Thanks for using fan mail. Your input is appreciated
This episode is about my interaction with podmatch. PodMatch.com is a site that assists podcasters in connecting with people for interviews. Right now I'm not heading in that direction. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that. I'm interacting with the podmatch community but do not have a account with the website as of now.
Please enjoy this episode.
As always feedback is highly encouraged and there are links in the show notes.
Thanks for your time.

**[Podcast Title]**
ej’s voice cast [TK episode number 18 / reply from podmatch ]
**Opening Segment:**
[TK Hook or interesting fact related to the topic]
I got a reply from podmatch.com’s Alex Sanfilippo after listening to a portion of the webinar.
**Transition to Main Content:**
**Main Content:**
- [Segment 1: Kind words and motivation ]
So the email started out with congratulations on my success with the japanese version of my podcast. He mentioned that I posted more episodes than most podcasters ever do. At this point I got about 64 if you count both the English and Japanese language podcast and both seasons. He asked what one of my favorite recent podcasts was so he could listen to it. I finally, after some reluctance, picked one , S2 E13, and sent him the link. Maybe he’ll give it a listen. I didn’t expect feedback from listening to a webinar so it is nice that he took the time to listen and provide that.
- [Segment 2: A little more info on the reply]
He then stated that he created a quiz called “podscore” and provided a link. I took it and it told me I’m in the 22 percentile of podcasters. It classified me as the “Balanced Broadcaster”. The information stated “You excel in the area of self-care and understand the importance of time away from the microphone”. Sure podmatch is a business and the function of a business is to make money and I’m a potential client. The return information covered areas of podcasting that I’m doing well in, clarity and purpose 65%, Self-care 75% and areas where more work is required self-discipline 15%, connection with listeners 14%. I haven’t begun the process of trying to monetize this podcast and eventually I’ll probably get around to it but first I would like to get some listeners and some listener feedback, hint hint. On that note you should find a link to Fan Mail. Fan Mail is something created by Buzzsprout. There’s a link on my page to download or subscribe and you can send me feedback which can be helpful for me to provide good content.
- [Segment 3: where to from here]
So the quiz asked a lot of questions, it took 20 minutes to complete, and got me thinking about small changes I can make. For instance I could actually put in a description of what the episode is about when uploading it to Buzzsprout. Might make it easier to find a particular podcast later should someone be interested in a topic I covered. I got an email with a 4 page pdf custom report designed for me to start with my lowest score and work to raise that area and then of course on to the next. I read up on the first suggested section to see what it is all about.
[Segment 4: Diving into the free course]
After I finished the quiz and read what my PodScore was I jumped into the free, yes free, course that is offered. Some interesting tidbits in there that are helpful and make me think of where I’m going with this. Motivational items to keep me on track and different ways to think about how to stay on track. One of the videos had a speaker that broke down how to think about your goals. Think out as far as you can where you wish to be in that future, what will it look like. Then think about over the next 5 years what do you think you need to accomplish to reach that goal. Then think about over the next year what you need to reach that 5 year goal, and then monthly break down what to read that year goal, then weekly then daily. Soon you have a plan laid out and you can begin working. Takes time but what else are you going to do?
[Segment 5: My current goals]
So having gone through that my current goals to start with today are:
Put in a description for each episode.
**Personal Story or Example:**
- [TK Share a personal story or example]
**Expert Insight or Quote:**
- [TK Include an expert insight or quote Share wisdom or perspective from an expert in the field.]
**Transition to Conclusion:**
That about finishes this episode
- [Summary of Key Points]
[TK Summarize the main takeaways from the episode.]
- [Closing Words]
