ejs Voicecast English Version season 2 episode 21

This episode is about using a new app called Hindenburg. This is replacing my Audacity setup which is good but this brings the sound I'm looking for. A nice deep warm sound that doesn't require a lot of processing on my part for Podcasts or VO Auditions.

I have been using Audacity for a few months after one of my coaches had me drop Garage Band. I’ve become acquainted with Audacity and gotten comfortable with that application; however, like all things sometimes something else comes along and well you just have to try it out. After I purchased my new gear, mic and audio interface, I was introduced to Hindenburg. Hindenburg is downloadable after you grab your Focusrite Vocaster interface. After a week  I finally pulled the trigger on downloading and testing it. So far so very good, as I can set a profile for VO recordings and podcasts where the effects I wish to have deployed on all my recordings can be created for one button application. Audacity has similar functions with their macros but this works pretty smoothly for me. There are differences in how I set up my fade in and outs for intro and outro music and start end segments for the podcast but the new methods are pretty easy. Setting the levels is a breeze as Hindenburg does it for me after I make a track. You can actually watch it happen in the track after you complete recording. I migrated my template over but had to do it piece by piece. First the music had to be imported and split into different sections and then faded in or out. The next was pulling in the voice intro outro that greets listeners or bids them farewell. With these sections done I just have to record tracks for my show. I can select the show track and apply my learned profile that has my noise reduction preference set and any other choice like EQ settings. 

The app also allow me to complete a podcast and then upload it to Buzzsprout, or any other podcast hosting servers, without me having to manually upload to the site. Once there it’s in the unpublished state and I can do the usual setup of editing descriptions. 

I still have stuff to learn on this app but it’s fairly intuitive but other sections are down right cloaked until you read a bit.

I did my first VO audition submission with it and applied noise reduction to remove the overly high gain. This turned into a very nice sound for me. Deep but with well rounded sound and no AC windy sound in the background. I saved it and then uploaded it to my voic’s account. I listened to the preview from voices and I could hear the AC sound but bumped up the noise reduction function and you don’t know that it was there before.

I decided to use Chat GPT to create specifications for a Firewall at work.

Chatgpt created a document that allows me to create a proper secondary zone on a firewall. 

I’ll bounce that off of another document I have that spells out the exact same method.

Now it looks like I got a good sound coming out of my setup so no excuses on that front. I’m waiting on a reply back from my coach and probably Lenny B. Lenny B is a person with an online presence who will listen to your recording and give you feedback on how to make it better. I need to upload my final product to him and see what he says.
