ej's voice over journey
My journey into the world art of Voice Over. I've begun learning how to use my voice to entertain and inform listeners. Since I just started I might as well use my voice to inform others of my path. Who knows, what I have to say may help someone else interested in this art avoid mistakes and have a smoother entry.

[Podcast Title]
EJ no Voice Cast [TK episode 21 / Updated my gear ]
**Main Content:**
[Segment 1: Modifications to my room treatment]
I spent a lot of time learning how to treat my room for recording auditions and this podcast. With the new Vocaster One hub and RodeNT1a I have achieved the sound I’ve been looking for and have removed my DIY both. So far it sounds good and I have no complaints. Let me know if you hear a different sound in these new podcast posts. You have all the links to drop me some thoughts.
[Segment 2: Speaking of posts ]
If you have noticed I changed the name of the podcast to ej’s voice over journey from ej’s voice cast since that’s what this podcast is about. I paid attention to what podmaster’s podcasting success roadmap has been teaching me. I’m also working to change my art work. To be honest it’s kinda meh and I should probably do a better job of making it attractive. One of things it says not to do is use a microphone pic in the art work unless your podcast is about the internals of podcasting. I think mine fits that idea but I’ve always thought of changing my cover art to something else. I’m not sure what yet.
One of the other items mentioned was to not put the season and episode numbers in the title. I’ll do some research to see what the labels look like before removing that information. Checked Spotify and outside of my title I don’t see anything pointing to season and episode dates.
[Segment 3: Learning new software]
I was frustrated with myself using the new software. I wanted to use the merge function to piece tracks in separate regions together to get one track. I wasn’t pressing the right key combos so it wasn’t working. Figured that out and finally got the results I was looking for. My next step is figure out why my profile doesn’t work between takes. I can simply apply noise reduction and adjust it whenever I do a read but I would like to get this useful profile function working on the regular.
Hindenburg says it’s applying it to the track but it’s not. I know it’s saved so somewhere in the mix I’m not doing it right.
[Segment 4: changes ]
You shall notice some changes, minor ones, to the podcast. If you haven’t listened then you may not catch the changes to my sound and visuals. I have changed the name as mentioned but I also changed the cover art and I shall be changing up titles to remove the season and episode indicators. That’s probably redundant and needed. If you have an opinion on the changes, positive or not, let me know what you think might look good and better reflect what you believe this podcast offers. If you believe I’m missing a topic or you want some information about a topic let me know. There’s a fan mail link plus you have my email for direct mailing.
Summary of Key Points
[Brief synopsis of what I said]
So I covered my current state of room treatments, posting of new episodes and learning how to use my new software. Takeaways from this I would say are to slow down, assess what you're doing, use the support tools from the provider if they have any and don’t be afraid to be wrong.
