Segment 1:[ We’re going in a different direction]

Well I didn’t get the role that I had the directing session for. I got the news after I left for my snowboard trip. The very next day I got notified that I’m selected for another role so that’s 2 but neither has done anything yet. Two days later I find out I’m short listed on another. I’ve been auditioning for lots of good sounding roles. I just hope they come to pass. Paid or unpaid doesn’t matter, the experience is what I need now. It’s been pretty busy so this information is over the course of a couple of weeks. I just got picked up for a volunteer spot with Readworks. They’re a non profit organization that produces reading materials for kids. I’m waiting to hear back on how to access the materials so I can start recording. I did my due diligence and the organization does exist. They have been vetted by Backstage and/or its partners for verification. They’ve not asked me for money up front but I’m asking them about their AI policies. I used some information from an association called NAVA.

Segment 2: [Found a New website/organization ]

I found NAVA on a post in reddit. It’s the National Association of Voice Actors or NAVA. I can’t join yet because I don’t have any credits to submit for membership. You must be a working VO artist so you can post up your reels and point to your work. After your submission is approved, it gets reviewed, you can join and take advantage of coaching and even get insurance. I think it costs $125.00 a year. They offer some things for free. There was one report on how to spot scammer job posts. The site appears to be very helpful for VO artists. I poked around the site for a bit on some of the links and I found some interesting topics. One on demo production. It is a guide that explains what a demo is and examples of a couple of types of demos. It provides information on what a demo producer should be about and what a VO artist should expect from them as well as what a VO artist should be doing to secure a demo reel. There are contract templates
