Segment 1:[ Closing Credits Character creation school]

For the last 4 weeks I’ve been attending Closing Credits class on character creation hosted by Timothy Banfield aka FunnyGuyTim. This course was awesome and helped me get more out of my introverted self and try new things. The course lasted for 4 weeks and had homework assignments. At this point in this script I still have one more homework assignment to turn in which should provide me some useful feedback from the coach.

Well a week after posting the above I got my last homework assignment in and the feedback was helpful. I created an audio packet that I post on Game Dev Marketplace, link in the show notes, where you can create audio files, development tool kits and other items that animators, VO’s and other creatives can download for free or purchase. They then use those in their projects. I posted my packet which contains a bunch of NPC character lines like Hi, Good day, see ya, later, watch where you’re going. Random one liners that move the story and help main characters, the real player, get information to complete quests and the like. I have ideas for more of these so I’ll be building up my packets. It takes time to do but isn’t hard.

Segment 2: [Coach feedback]

The feedback I got covered a few areas one of these gave me my niche, radio announcer guy. He is a character I created that is based on the sound of the 1930’/40’s announcer style. Based on the sound I have with my recording it lends itself to that style. I’ll also be working on how to change that sound to take advantage of other niche areas and broaden my base. I know there’s a switch on the mic that can change the sound so I used it to get a different sound. I'll be experimenting with that more.

Segment 3: [Casting Call Club status ]

The best news so far is that on CCC I’ve gotten my first paying gig completed. Well Almost completed there may be some NPC work to do but apparently I nailed all the character lines required. This is for a game coming out in 2026 based on the Daiichi nuclear plant. It’s one character and several lines but I got it and I’m happy. The other CCC roles are still in the works, the Transformers Dub is still going but I’m not appearing until episode 10 and we’re on 2 right now. I also dropped some crowd noise reads and I think there’s more of those to come. I spent this morning putting those credits on my profile. One more narrator role for an audiobook is closed. I’m contacting the person to find out what the status is. The current one, worked on some submissions last night,  is Ready for Imminent. This is a story about an overworked Policy unit.

Segment 4: [Speaking of roles and paid]

I reopened a Fiverr account for the 3rd time. This time I actually got a client, or maybe it was another scammer? I don’t think so but I had issues getting my payment accounts to work. They appear to be working now but haven’t received an answer from Fiverr support on how to properly test them. My tests have all returned errors so my page is paused until I get this worked out. I think my potential client has moved on due to the problems. I don’t blame them, I didn’t have all my ducks in a row so not their fault I wasn’t prepared.

Segment 5: [Busy busy busy ]

So as I said earlier I’ve been busy and each time I started this something new popped up and delayed me. I may have to keep a running log rather than rely on a one time write up.

Thanks for listening, undoubtedly there will be more news in the future.
