I have made some recent changes to the podcast. I've combined the two into one so you will now here the podcast in both English and Japanese. After a few trials I have now decided to do this paragraph by paragraph. You will get one paragraph in English and the next in Japanese.

Segment 1:[ Waiting /Mateimasu ]

I’m still waiting to hear back from Book Buddy Media inc, incase I haven’t mentioned it before this is the name of the company I have been working with. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a big AI scam. Based on the policy payment is NET 30, which means they have 30 days to send me the money from the date they allow me to submit my invoice to them. That’s mid September right now. The fact that they haven’t provided a request for retake or update I’m feeling that everything is fine in that area.

Segment 2: [Signed up for a new round of coaching / Coaching kurasu ga hajimeru ]

This may sound like I’m being redundant but I just signed up for one-on-one coaching. This will be more specific to learning Audiobook reading, commercial reading and getting my branding on my website and elsewhere completed. I have bounced from one site to another trying to find one that has a nice website editing tool. WIX and Wordpress didn’t have what I was looking for. Luckily I was able to get a refund from Wordpress but not WIX. Squarespace is my provider of choice. I had them some years ago but wanted to try another site. Squarespace, at least for me, has a much more intuitive website editor than either of the others.

Segment 3: [It’s completed! / Owarimashita ]

Book Buddy Media Inc has paid my first invoice. I did follow up with them on becoming a member of their narrator roster. I sent a message to the contact person they provided and I’m waiting for a response.

Segment 4: [ I heard back from BBM / BBM wa emailru o moratta ]

I heard back from the manager responsible for hiring VA’s for the BBM roster of narrators. I had to submit 2 files, one for technical review of my setup and the other to hear what I sound like by reading a provided script that will check for plosives and other sounds. I submitted the 2 files and am now waiting on a reply.

BBM no seyu no hiring manager kara email o moraimashita. Email wa ni mai file wa Rokuon shinakarreba norimasen. File 1 ban wa technical check to file ni ban script o yomimasu. Ryoho file o tsukurimashita. Ima wa matte imasu.

Segment 5:[ 1 on 1 class with my coach/ coaching kojin shimai ]

We went over reading scripts as informal, relaxed and as conversational as can be. Today most copy is meant to be read in a more conversational tone. They wish to connect with the audience as a friend or relative. I’m practicing breaking up scripts. This is a method used by VA’s to give weight, depth and nuance to a read. It can allow you to not sound like an announcer but like a real human talking to another real human.

Daihon yomi wa futsū no kaiwa no yō ni, dekiru dake kigaru de kaju-aru na chōshi de renshū shimashita.Genzai, hotondo no kopī wa, yori kaiwa-teki na chōshi de yomareru koto o mokuteki to shite imasu. Risunā to tomodachi ya kazoku no yō ni tsunagaritai to negatte imasu. Watashi wa daihon no bunsetsu-wake o renshū shite imasu. Kore wa seiyū ga yomikata ni omo-mi, fukasa, soshite nyuansu o dasu tame ni mochiiru hōhō desu. Sore ni yotte, an'nānsā no yō de waaku, hontō no ningen ga hoka no hontō no ningen ni hanashikakeru yō ni naru koto ga dekimasu.

Segment 6: [ update for segment 4/ ]

I got picked up by Book Buddy Media. I’m now on their roster of narrators. There are no guarantees that I’ll get another read with them but if I’m not on their roster the odds are even less that I’ll get an offer.
